Today we (Tiffany and I) finally arrived in Friendship, the village in which we'll be teaching. The end of orientation was both exciting and sad -- it's exciting to get to our schools, but sad to leave all of the people we've met and made bonds with these past weeks.

So far Friendship seems very nice, although I've only been here for about 5 hours. Tiffany and I both have our own apartments, which are right next to each other. They both seem really nice, and it is very exciting to be able to finally unpack my suitcases. The school groundskeeper, Mr. Williams, showed us around the school compound and the village a little bit. He also seems very nice and very helpful. He let us in on a lot of little tips about the area. I also saw the science room that I'll be teaching in, which got me very excited because it is a lot better than I expected. Mr. Williams said I'll be the only one teaching science, so I get the room all to myself. Wow. We also met some the of school guards and cleaning ladies, who are extremely helpful and friendly as well. It was really cool because whenever anybody found out that I was the science teacher, they were immediately like, "Oh, you de science teacha??!" and gave a very nice smile of affirmation. I think they are happy to have a motivated science teacher - at least I hope so.

Blessings from C-Town...
Dear Jaimers,

Congratulations on finishing orientation and on (what sounds like) some very cool 'God is an amazing provider' moments. I am enjoying the updates greatly...and the pictures as many ways, I am jealous (and I know Carrie is as well) be able to travel and experience a whole new nation of God's creation...and finding how Christ manifests himself in the people and their culture...truly incredible. Anyway, our prayers are and have been with you throughout your journey. We're looking forward to more updates...and more beautiful pictures. And oh yeah... one more thing...

Give'em SPUNK!!!

Con mucho amor en Cristo,
Jeff and Carrie Stredney (yup, the name change is official now :)

WOW! I did it!
Hey Jaime,

Getting your PodMail is so cool! Your journal entries are awe-inspiring! This journal is much more than a TravelPod. I think in your case it should be called a JourneyPod or an AdventurePod or an AwesomePod. I mean what you are doing is way more than just 'Travel.'

Reading about your experiences is so exciting. It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. The pictures of your surroundings are breathtaking ... the sunset ... the waters ... the rainbow. They are all absolutely magnificent!

Also, it is fantastic to hear how charged up your students are to be in school and learn about science. I bet being in your classroom is going to be a real blast!

Jaime, I feel truly blessed to know you, and I just know that with God's help your work is going to touch many lives in a beautiful way.

Stay safe,
