Hey all I am in the birth place of lord Krishna. I am staying at the ISCON temple (Hare Krishna movement). I heard it was the nicest guest house here. It is very clean. However, it is dusty, humid, and still extremely filthy everywhere else here. Even though having heard of the poverty here in India there is know way to understand unless you come. It is humbling. The touts and beggars are extreme. I have gotten swindled at least twice, not to bad though. I'm learning quickly, but it is ridiculously annoying! Being my first time here I need to find out where to go, how much to pay, and so on. 90% of the Indians who speak English will try to rip you off or just send you the wrong direction for the hell of it, the other 10% are very helpful:). I finally got some native sannyasi (spiritual seeker) clothing and noticed that I less hasseled, but noticed not making eye contact is usually a good idea.
My highlight for today was visiting Maharahji's (Neem Karoli Baba) temple here in Vrindavan

Maharaji Murti
. it was truly like home. I got to sing the Hanuman Chalisa in his room. The pujari there was fascinated by my digital camera and wanted me to take pictures. He took some pictures of me next to Baba's picture and also of me singing the Hanuman Chalisa. He also ran off with my camera while I was meditating and took some pictures of Ashramites. I talked to the keeper there and he told me Siddhi Ma (long time devotee of Baba, who's darshan {blessing} I have made a point to seek) was still in Kainchi (up north at the foothills of the Himalaya's). I most likely will just to have to go get Siddhi Ma's darshan and see the temple in Kainchi. It has been told to me by friends that it is incredibly beautiful, and not so dirty and hot. I'm having a hard time uploading photos here but will try to get some more up later. Om peace.

Jai Bolo Satguru Neem Karoli Baba Namah!
Hey Jagadish, That pujariji must have known that we wanted to see you in the act. I was still feeling sick this morning but somehow your pictures and blog gave me the spark of energy and upliftment I needed to get to work today.
Blessings and Peace,
Matthew
