For the most part of our time in Hoki it was raining, so we ended up spending two days chilling out at our campsite that had an awesome kitchen and living room. We all had a small drive to the old port and about town and then picked up a case of beer for the night. I also got onto a few Tequilas and OJ.

I snuck off to see the glow worm dell about midnight slightly off my head, which was just over the road. It had nothing on the glow worm caves I had seen in Te Anau but these ones were free. I had to guide myslef through the track using the handrail and managed to scare the hell out of some people when I was leaving.

In the Morning I ventured out to catch up with some relatives that I haven't seen since 1992 when I was about 12. I had remembered the house was outside a large park and had managed to find the house the night before despite not knowing the address. It was pretty cool to catch up with them again.

I swung back to the campsite to pick up the other two still just getting out of bed and we made the 33km drive out to see the Hokitika Gorge amid pretty solid rain. The drive howvere was definately worth it as we climbed down the slippery path in our jandals to come across a wire bridge that spanned over the gorge above the unbelivable coloured water. The water was an amazing green blue milky colour and snakes along the side of some little cliffs amid dense native forset. We took a short walk round the track despite Gareths moans and ended up on an excellent vantage point of rocky outcrops overhanging the river.

Later that night was spent on the beach, where we had an epic game of frisbee and then a swim before I indulged in a few Pepe Lopez Tequilas again, that I have learnt to drink with loads of Raro (a powered concentrate fruit drink)
