We headed from Istanbul into Bulgaria which was a bit of an unknown destination as we hadn't meet too many people who had ventured into this country and again once we arrived in Sofia there was next to no tourists about. We had definitely also turned a corner in terms of weather as well with a very definite switch to autumn, which was only going to get colder from now on in until we hit Finland.
Sofia grew on me the few days that we were there. There wasn't generally a main attraction to Sofia, however there was a fairly attractive main centre, local antique market next to the Alexsander Nevski Church, Cathedral and the autumn colours of the parks.
