Seville was the most likeable place that we had been to in Spain to date and it did a lot to boost my general opinion of Spain. After getting extremely lost trying to find our hotel and after me numerously denying that we were lost we finally found the Barrio De Santa Cruz area, where we were staying. This area of Seville was right amongst all the action, with an area like a maze containing many restaurants, cafes, bars and plazas.
We visited the huge cathedral, the biggest in the world and also holding the remains of Christopher Columbus. The cathedral also had the huge former minaret (La Giralda) that acts as an adjoining tower.

Seville is also the home of bull fighting in Spain, so we brought a ticket to the fight on Saturday at the Plaza De Toros De LA Maestranza. The atmosphere and passion from the locals was pretty immense. However perhaps we were a bit naïve and we weren't really prepared for what was actually going to happen through the fight. The bulls were led through a series of different routines where basically they were impaled with more and more spears and swords until they submitted and were put out of their misery. There were about 8 bulls in total that went through this. It is a pretty bloodthirsty sport.
