Cappadocia

The valleys in Goreme have to be some of the most visually bizarre nature landscapes that I have seen. The Rose Valley, White Valley, Love Valley and Pigeon Valley to name a few with their early Christian houses and churches complete with frescos carved into the lunar soft volcanic 'Tufa' rock.
Here we also took a day tour to the nearby sights such as the Kaymakli Underground City, Ihlara Gorge, ancient Caravan Park on the old silkroad, a traditional pottery and finally finishing with an unbelievable sunset over the Fairy Chimney rock formations. Cappadocia is another one of the many gems to contribute to turkey fast becoming one of my favourite countries. More thumbnails ...
