Arrived in Munich after the night train from Rome and jumped on the underground and headed off to find Thalkirchen my camp ground. I got there to find thousands of people and a great party atmosphere. I pitched up the tent and the had a couple of beers before heading off to view the infamous 'Hundred Club' before taking a nap and then a few more beverages that night. That night the place was just buzzing, with music blaring from everywhere and a lot of very pissed people. I have never seen so many bloody Kiwis out of NZ in one place. All the Van tours stop here on the European jaunt. I resisted the temptation to go down to the Beer Halls and decided to wait for Sarah a friend from London the next day and instead had a sleep in before heading into central Munich for a look around. The campsite was pretty empty during the day but once people started flowing back the party soon got underway again.
The next day I got up again after sleeping in and went in to Munich to pick up Sarah and then we headed back to the campsite. After Sarah had settled in we had a few beers at the campsite before getting it together and heading to the beer halls. The place was a huge fairground with the different beer halls spread evenly along the grounds. We had a few beers and went on a few rides before heading into on of the Beer Halls and had our first steins - Prost! That's how the night started and finished jumping on the table, singing and dancing all night. The next day we went in again pretty early to the 'HB' tent which is the real mongrel Kiwi -Ozzie tent. Anything pretty much goes here. Had a couple of beers here before going back to the campsite for a snooze. We then went back to the ground and back to the 'HB' house that was absolutely cranking. We were again drinking and dancing on the tables with our steins. Sarah disappeared later that night and didn't turn up again until I went back to the campground to see she had managed to get back home and into the tent in her drunken state despite not knowing the code to my lock. The next day we headed back down to the grounds. Sarah was feeling pretty hungover and so was I to be honest. Anyway we had a look around before it was time for Sarah to catch her Train out again. Went back to the camp ground where Megan, a Californian chick and Neil a crazy Scottish dude had just come back. Neil had his face painted in Scottish colours and was so drunk. We sat around the campfire playing the guitar and drinking for a few hours. Things got louder and Louder and before long security had rocked up along with a screaming German git complaining, so we brought out the harmonica as well until security confiscated Neils tent. To drunk to care we carried on until Neil accidentally knocked a friend over who chipped her tooth on a beer create. Night Over. He next day I got up pretty early and packed the tent and had breakfast with Megan before saying goodbye. I then ventured into town to sort out a train. I intended to go to Luxembourg but it was too difficult and expensive so I opted for a train to Amsterdam.
