The bus ride was only 1-½ hours, but I had a massive hike and then an incredibly long wait at the worst run hostel I have been to. Eventually I managed to get the 2nd last bed in the building after being in reception for two freakin hours. The hostel itself was actually very nice and modern. Once out and again not knowing what to expect of Vienna I was immediately struck by how passionate and overbearing this city is. The buildings are so intense right down to every detail and are so large that they make you feel tiny beside them. Day two I woke up and skipped next door for the inclusive breakfast, not being one to pass up a free meal. After that I headed off to visit a Mozart statue .The musicians such as Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms and Schubert hold a strong influence on Vienna.
After the statue I took in the two dominating buildings along Reichstratssr before heading back to St Stephens Cathedral. I spent a long time gazing in amazement at a series of statues on the Heldenplatz Façade. After a quick sleep I woke up at night and headed out to dinner at the same Pizza place I ate at last night. Here the pizza bases were made in front of you by an amazing baker throwing the bases high into the air. Later I sat in the Volksgarten watching all the many breeds of dogs shedding their excess energy in the park before heading to St Stephens Plaza to take in the packed night scene. The next day I went to Prater, a huge amusement park. There I took a ride on the famous Ferris wheel, which dates back to 1897 that gave me a view of Vienna in all directions. I then moved onto the coin machine thinking it was easy. After chewing through my cash I then strolled around the park and then headed to the bus station to book my ticket. On my way back to the hostel I stopped to watch various performers in the square and then went and sat in the park until the sun went down. After that I had Pizza again and then took a few photos. Tomorrow I head into Croatia but unfortunately I won't make it down the coast.
