September 20

I continue to be fighting off a bug of some sort. I've got a bit of a sore throat today. Sound quite horse too. I know I'm much more tired than usual, but other than that I don't feel horribly sick. I will not get sick!

So got lost but eventually found Tower Bridge. Walked past the Tower of London to get there. I know everybody says it's a must see, but I think I'll spend my money elsewhere. I sat on a bench near the entrance and listened in on a Beefeater giving a tour for a few minutes though.

I really enjoyed the Tower Bridge experience. Just as I got there the bridge went up (one of the reasons it goes up apparently is to honour the presence of royalty - who knew!). That was neat to see.

I refuse to get caught up in the rushing about - I'm on holidays. I was just trying to stop at one point today to consult my map. People are so rush, rush, rush here that a couple of people almost seriously crashed into me. It's worse than any city I've ever been in.

Passing through a train station (I was lost) near lunch time I bought a ham and cheese baguette from Paris - I believe as good as the ones in France - yum.

I just wandered around some different neighbourhoods the rest of the day (I was lost). Saw the London eye and some of the sights near there (I was lost). So, I continue to spend much of my time lost, but at least most of the time I'm surrounded by beautiful things - and I always find myself in the end. I especially enjoy getting lost on the bus - my feet don't get as sore - today when I was lost on the bus I saw the horse guards and Trafalgar square.

Finally remembered to call my uncle to set up Saturday and he was on the phone. I've put his number in with my Oyster pass so I'll remember it tomorrow.

Laura arrives tomorrow. I'm very excited - we've never spent this much time apart and I miss her a lot.
