September 13, 07

Busy day again. Day tour out to the Cotswolds. I really like the small tours - max 16 people on the bus. We were able to go to places the big buses can't. I'm not sure i'll remember all the towns we were in.

A quick stop in Castle Comb - it was quieter so got some amazing photographs.

Stopped at a small church in a tiny village - don't have the name handy now. A plaque in the church showed it was a 'thankful village' - no one died in the war. Beautiful, peaceful, and we were the only ones there. Saw some stained glass that is around a thousand years old.

Our lunch stop was in Stow-in-Wold ( I think that was the name). While everyone else went to a tea room (which I heard later that their lunch was only mediocre), I had a picnic in the market square, next to the old stocks - then had lots of time to wander the town. Once I moved beyond the main streets, it was deserted and very peaceful. I walked through a couple of really cool passageways, one of which I could touch both sides if I spread my arms.

Anyway, an absolutely amazing day. We got back to Bath about 6pm, so I had enough time to walk up and see the circus and royal crescent - it is quite a pretty city. Found a cute diversion on the way back to the y - a georgian garden behind one of the houses in the circus.

Great day.
