Up early, lift from Nicky the tree planter to the station, cup of coffee (free, gratis and for nowt), on the train and away.
The journey, minus the loud wine-swilling ladies next to us, was pretty much more of the same. Very pretty, but not really worth trying to write about.
We were met at the station by the shuttle minibus from our hostel, which was quite impressive for four reasons: one, the fact that we hadn't booked a shuttle; two, the fact that the damn train was late again; three, we hadn't informed the hostel that we would be arriving by train anyway; and four, the Tom Selleck like 'tache sported by the driver. Jacob was tempted to offer some sort of praise for this magnificent facial adornment, but Kirsty thought that she might be offended.
After a wander around Prince Rupert in the rain, we elected to eat at Pizza Hut. It had the singular benefit of being open. Part way through a monstrous set-meal, Kirsty made the inspired suggestion of asking for the rest of it to be boxed up for a train-picnic the following day. It was that or buy Dave the conductor's "long-life sandwiches" - telling us they were good for three weeks was never going to inspire confidence. They looked as though they were removed every day from their packaging and washed before being returned to the display. Mmmm.
Shower, bed, sleep, up early for a train back down to Prince George.
