OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH! Big waterfall!!!!!!!!!
The day started with us waiting for a bus outside a hotel which was due to whisk us and the Chinese population of Toronto to the Niagara Falls Casino. It turned up just as we were starting to turn blue from the cold and we went to the next stop, where a guy with a backpack was allowed to board, much to our annoyance as we had bought (and sewn a new strap onto) the most rubbishy little bag in the world. However, after a fairly heavy duty argument in which the bus staff explained that they could not allow luggage on the bus as the casino would not allow it, and the man with the backpack explained that he had $10,000 in his bag, the bus staff took the very pragmatic step of ejecting the bag and leaving the passenger to make his own mind up as to what to do next. We debated whether to follow the bag and use the proceeds to buy new identities but eventually, the man decided to follow the rules and take an alternative form of transport.
We arrived at Niagara and proceeded to the casino to cash in our voucher for $10 each in cash back. We then got out of the casino again as quickly as was possible and went outside to investigate the sound of running water....whadayaknow - there's a big waterfall!
Got waterproofed up and took some photos of the falls and the incredible plume of spray rising to higher than the height of the falls themselves. We went on the 'behind the falls' tour which involved going down in a lift thing to a viewing platform where we wowed a bit at the amount of water rushing past us, then following a tunnel to a couple of openings behind the fall itself. We were quite proud to be the only ones not wearing the yellow ponchos.
After our fall fix, we had some food and then had a mooch about the mall until our bus was leaving. When we got back, we made soup and talked to the new arrivals at the hostel and packed our bags up ready to move for the stay with our Couch Surf for our final night in Toronto.
