Happy Canada Day!! We decided that to ride the train back and forth from Paris to our hotel would cost far too much money so we asked the front desk if we could transfer to another hotel closer to the city center. It took close to an hour before the other hotel eventually emailed a confirmation number but they got us a room and we headed for the new place inside Paris. We managed our way through the subway system and finally got to the new hotel (which is just a short 5min walk) around noon, so half the day was already wasted.

We still managed to see the Notre Dam Cathedral which was packed with tourists almost to the point of bursting. After leaving the cathedral we walked up the Avenue des Champs Elysees towards the Arch de Triumph and on the way looked at a bunch of souvineer shops. We took crap loads of pictures, partially because people kept walking through them. There was still tons of sun left so we figured we would walk to the Eiffel Tower and take some pictures of the sunset.

When we got there the lines were absolutely insane so we figured we would come back later in the week to go to the top. We went and sat in the grass underneath the tower and waited for the sun to set. We got some amazing pictures thanks to our cameras color settings. We made our way home before the sun went down because we were planning to go to Versailles the next day.
