This day Hans and Diane left for Canada to visit family and so we got up to say goodbye and Dieter took them to Frankfurt for their flight. The day was pretty crappy again and so James and I (Jackie) just went up to Sylvia and Dieter's to hang out with her and the kids for the day (since now they thought we were fun). We just spent the day teaching them card games and even getting in a game of Ticket to Ride!!

Dieter didn't get back until just before supper and then they took us to a wine house type of restaraunt for supper. We had some awesome wine (considering James and I still don't really like wine and we liked this stuff, it was pretty good!) and for the food they make meat and cheese platters, meat salads, and other kind of light meals. I (Jackie) decided to have the meat and cheese platter and when my meal came I was shocked and had to poke James to show him one of the pieces of meat I had gotten. There on my plate was a piece of headcheese (which for those of you that don't know is kind of a bunch of chopped meat held together with gelatin) and I was so excited because I only ever get it once a year on boxing day when my grandpa's side of the family gets together and since we missed christmas this year I hadn't gotten it! Sylvia asked what was wrong and I of course said nothing and told her about how much I love headcheese and only get it once a year. She was shocked and started laughing because she hadn't told me that the meat platter included it because most people don't like it and she didn't want to scare me! lol. Apparently it's a bavarian dish, which makes sense since my grandpa's side of the family is german.
