Our train left around 9:00am and we had to transfer before getting to Cardiff but it only took about an hour and a half in total (much different from the 13 hr train rides in China!). It was unfortunetly raining the entire morning so our walk to the hostel was less than exciting. Also, our little umbrellas that we have work very well for repelling water but crumble when even the smallest gust of wind blows. It also turned out that we couldn't check in until 2:00pm, bummer.

We thought about going to the Cardiff Castle but figured it was too expensive and from the pictures of the layout it didn't seem that impressive inside; we really don't want to get castled out only a week into our travels, so we have to pick and choose. So we went to a free exhibit of the King James Bible at the city hall which was very informative, actually pretty interesting and killed a few hours. We then went to the national museum and learned all about how the world was formed according to science as opposed to religion and what kind of plants and animals live here. There were lots of interactive videos and crap loads of fossils. This also killed a few hours. It was very strange going to one exhibit where they proved with books, stone tablets, and dreams/visions that god created everything and then go to another exhibit where they say that everything was created by chance (the big bang) with random particles coming together at the right time. We finally wer able to check in and went back to the hostel, again we made an attempt to catch up our blog (failed though). In the evening we went and wandered around the "archades" which are there malls/ assortments of small shops. Most things were closed by this time though so we retired to the hostel.

As we were hanging out in the common room downstairs we heard a big bandg in the doorway behind us and the person at reception went rushing to find out what was going on; turns out a drunken fella leaned against the door thinking it was a wall and fell into the entryway! Hahaha, too funny!!!
