Where I stayed
Blue Skies Hostel
We spent the rest of the day sitting in the hostel doing nothing, again. We watched through the day as the people we had gone out with slowly woke up after a good nights rest, we were very jealous. The only upside was that we got to stay for the hot pot party that night which is another meal that Jackie really wanted to do while we were in China.
They brought out two pots of boiling broth and then plates of mushrooms, tofu noodles, leafy greens, mushrooms, pork, etc
We left for the airport a little later than we should have and so we missed the cheaper airport express train and had to take a taxi, damn. After waiting for our usual four hours the plane finally left. I have never been good at sleeping on planes so I figured it would be a long flight considering the t.v. and music stations were in Russian (we flew with a Russian airline) and I was dead tired. Thankfully both Jackie and I slept like rocks for 6 hours straight!
Our two hour layover in Moscow was ok considering when we got off the plane no one told us where to go so naturally we followed the signs and the whole plane ended up going to the wrong end of the terminal before someone found us all standing around confused and turned us around; apparently the signs were pointing in the exact wring direction!
Another four hour flight and we were finally in London, hurray!! We managed to figure out the subway system and where our hostel was with no real trouble. After getting settled into our dorms we ate some food in the bar downstairs; it's going to take time getting used to the prices in Europe after being in Asia. We also took a bus to a shopping centre to buy a Europe travel guide and I (James) bought some new shorts for myself. We headed back to the hostel because we were still very tired from our trip and crashed in our beds early.
