Again we had a day that was less than eventful; we spent the majority of it trying to update our blog. We did manage to get outside and pick up some egg tarts and our own personal chopsticks, yup we are professional China travelers now. When we got back to the hotel we convinced the lady at the front desk to play cards with us and taught her tens & two's and golf. It took her only about 2 hands to learn, which is good considering our friend Jeff still doesn't know how to play and he's played a bunch of times.

The next day we surprisingly woke up today at 9:00 and decided we would rent bikes again and go for a tour through the rice fields and smaller villages outside of town. At 9:30 though our phone rang and it was the front desk telling us that our cooking instructor was here to pick us up for our class. We thought that we had booked it for the next day so we frantically tried to get dressed and ready to go considering we were still in bed. We were down stairs in about five minutes and the instructor took us to the local market where we would be picking up the ingredients for the days lessons.
 While we were in the market our guide told us all about chinese ingredients and how to cook them and what they are for. Our guide led us through to the 'meat' area and we were a little taken back by the dogs that they had hung from hooks and half their body gone for the meat. It was even more disturbing when we saw a cage full of cats ready for butchering just to look up from that to see a guy skinning a dog that they had just killed!
 After the market was all done we were driven to where we would be cooking, the brochure said it was in the country away from town but it was just a building that looked out over the river at the countryside; gave us a nice view though.
 Our instructor then demonstrated the cooking for us and we proceeded to get on with the cooking. We first made pork filled egg dumplings, then steamed chicken with mushrooms, pork stir-fry, stir-fried green vegetables, and finally eggplant stir-fry. We all enjoyed our food very much which filled us up a great deal conserdering the servings weren't very large.
 When we were done we decided to walk back to our hotel considering it wasn't very far and we thought we should try and walk off all the food we had just eaten.
When we got back to our hotel we once again retreated for an afternoon nap; these are quickly becoming a bad habit! After the nap and then going out for supper and a wander around the pedestrian street we went to play cards again with the lady at the hotel.
