(Just so people don't think we're crazy for waiting so long Jackie wasn't in any pain or throwing up she was just dizzy and tired and weak and had no appetite so it seemed like she was dehydrated or something and that it would go away without medical attention.)
Anyway, I did the nitrox dive and the night dive, both were awesome. The Gilli's definitely have better diving than Thailand does.
Then the day after my diving we packed up and bought some tickets back to Bali where we could see a doctor. The hardest part was trying to get Jackie mobile considering she'd been in a bed for a week and had hardly eaten anything so she had little to no energy
After we got to the Hospital she was put on an iv and her blood was taken to test for Malaria, Typhoid, Dengue fever, and other types of sicknesses. She was then moved into a room upstairs where she spent five and a half days recovering. The second day they finally did the test for dengue fever and it turned out positive, so we finally found out what was wrong. Her red blood count or something related to it ended up dropping to less than half of what is normal and her blood pressure kept dropping so until it stabilized she stayed in the hospital.
I spent those five days grabbing cabs back and forth from the hospital to spend the days with her, pretty much to help her eat and get things off her tray cz she was too weak to move really. Then I would either go back to a hotel at night and keep her family updated or stay on a very uncomfy couch at the hospital.
