Where I stayed
We packed up our bags in the morning and after breakfast we headed for the bus that would take us to Ubud (thankfully all the water in the alleys had drained away so it was a dry walk). After an hour and half bus ride we arrived in Ubud and was immediatly assulted by people trying to get us to stay at their guesthouses and homestays. We took a bunch of their cards but told them that we were looking for one place that we had read about. We started walking towards where our map said lots of places were to stay and looked at a few, we ended up staying at a place that a guy kept bothering us about, the Hutama Homestay. It was around the right price we were looking for and our room was nice and it had a coi pond right outside the door where we could watch the fish.
After we unpacked and got cooled off we headed out to see what Ubud had to offer, we were going to walk across town to see about another homestay but decided it was too far (only after walking almost all the way there)
The fire dance was very good it was a story about a prince who has to save his love from the clutches of an evil king, the whole time the dancers are dancing there are 60-70 men sitting in a circle (in the program it said they "shit in a circle" haha) around them continuously chanting for the entire thing, their voices must have hurt after that. We then went to a convinience store and got a snack because supper was less than filling, we went back to the room and tried to update our blog a bit and finally went to bed.
