On the saturday we took the bus to the Batu caves. When we arrived it looked like we would have to do another 290 steps striaght up to get to the caves. To make things even more interesting there were damn cursed monkeys everywhere! We witnessed one monkey attack a man's bag of offerings he was taking up to the temple and sent it's contents flying down the stairs, with other monkeys jumping to get what they could grab, total anarchy. The temple was really beautiful and decorated with lots of statues. On the way down the stairs I (James) saw a lady get nipped at because she wanted to get a picture with one of the monkeys, apperently the monkey didn't think it was a good idea. Stupid tourists.
When we got to the bottom we intended to go to a jungle canopy walk, but trying to convey our intentions to a cab driver turned out to be hopeless so we ended up going to a craft centre instead and walked around a bit
We had to kill some time before sundown, when we planned to see the petronas towers and KL tower, so we walked through a modern photograph exhibit (pictures that are on the cover of time magazine and stuff and win awards for their uniqueness). Some of the pictures however were of people being killed during genocide's in Africa and there was a woman in the exhibit with her 6 year old girl looking at some of the pictures that made OUR skin crawl; we didn’t really think they were something a little kid should be exposed to.
We ate supper in the mall food court and when it was dark enough we went to take pictures of the Petronas Towers, which turned out awsome! We then went to the KL Tower and took the lift up to the top (296m in 50sec). We were kind of disappointed in ourselves for deciding to go at night though because we couldn’t actually see the view cz it was dark out, duh.
After we took some pictures up there we went downstairs to a reptile zoo they had there and got to sit on a pony and take a picture, FUN!! Haha. Then we wandered all the way back home and called it a night for our tired legs.
