We started with a tour of a nearby market selling fresh produce and fruit and snacks and meat. Our guide taught us the names of the veggies we would be cooking with and picked up some supplies and we headed to the cooking school.
We made noodle dishes first and got to eat them right away. Then we made our own curry paste and then a dish to go with it. These were set aside for lunch. We also made chicken dishes to go with the curry dishes and once we were all done those we sat down to eat at a tiny little table with mats to sit on, very cool!
Once lunch was over the people doing the half day course went to make their desserts and us who were doing the full day sat and chatted about travelling
Once they were ready for us we next got to make Thai soup, which turned out to be our least favorite because we are used to being able to eat all of the soup, not just the broth and a few things. They don't just use powdered spices to add flavor they throw whole leaves in there and big chunks of stuff like ginger and such...very hard to eat. But then we got to make SPRING ROLLS!! That part was great and our spring rolls didn't even look half bad, they were actually quite good.
Then, finally after six dishes, we got to make dessert. For me (Jackie) I made sticky rice with a sweet cream sauce and mango on the side, amazing!! And James made cooked banana with toffee sauce and ice-cream; he greatly enjoyed his as well.
It was an awesome day with awesome people and had us looking forward to all the people we have yet to meet!
