My bags are packed and tomorrow I head for an adventure of a lifetime.  I am traveling to India on a Global Study Trip with the Stanford University Graduate School of Business!  Wow!  It has been a fantastic journey already...meeting my travel mates, orienting myself to the Indian culture, and even finding one Indian dish that I like.  (Steve and the boys took me out to dinner tonight and stuffed me like a Thanksgiving turkey!  I don't like Indian food so they are worried about my proposed self-inflicted starvation diet while traveling.)

Given the rookie traveler that I am, I thought it would be fun to document my experiences...maybe even a few great "Jackie's stories".  (For those of you who don't know what a Jackie story is, it is when I do something really ridiculous...think air-head.  I love sharing those funny moments.)  I already discovered what happens when you don't get your seat assignments early...17 hours in the middle seat!  Fortunately, my travel companions are already looking out for me and showing me the ropes.  They gave me instructions on how to log in to United to find my Lufthansa confirmation number.  With that, I was at least able to select a somewhat better seat...middle seat in the exit aisle!

I will be taking photos every day and posting the best to this blog.  Check back daily to see the story unfold.

My first photo was taken last month when we had the amazing opportunity to meet with Dr. Rice, former National Security Adviser to President Bush.  Like her politics or not (I know some of you don't), she is an amazing speaker.  She talked to us about the "contradictions" of India...the extreme wealth with extreme poverty, the diversity of religions living side-by-side in democracy yet in the same world "neighborhood" of extremist terrorists, the simple culture of everyday India next to the the extravagance of Bollywood.  It was an exciting way to kick off our adventure and to familiarize ourselves with some of the beauty and challenges of India.
