we each rented a scooter to explore the island. it is absolutely a blast riding around. the traffic on the island is mostly caused by the tricycles. lt is quite chaotic, but not as crazy as manila. leo rides a scooter in taiwan so naturally he takes off like he's riding at home.
we rode to the white beach, tambisann beach, and bulabog beach, the windsurfing and kitesurfing beach. i went to bulabog first thing in the morning to go windsurfing. it was visibily semi windy with white caps. the water was so nice and warm. you can see the corals at the bottom as you sail thru the crystal clear turquise water. incredible feeling. the wind wasn't that great but i did plane for a while on a 5.5 sail. there are only 2 other windsurfers. turns out bulabog beach hosts annual asian windsurfing tour in january, when the wind is cranking during monsoon season.
most of the resorts on the island are cluttered around white beach area. it's a little too crowded for my taste, but it also where all the actions are, both during the say and at night.
