so i woke up to the rain. turns out it rained heavily last night. it was a mostly cloudy/rainy day but the sun still poked out every now and then. i rented a scooter for usd$5 a day! and i am going to explore the island! before i came here i was reading some of the travel guides that warned against renting a scooter for saftey reasons. the guide says that koh samui has the highest vehicular fatality rate in entire thailand, and that majority of those fatalities came from scooters. but i feel i have proper training for riding a motorbike in dangerous situations. (far, far away in another galaxy i used to go 150mph everytime i ride) i didn't want to ride too much in the rain so i just took it easy and hung out with the kite shop boys.
