Hey everyone!! How could we not visit Australia Zoo when we are in Australia!! The home of everyones heroe, Steve Irwin. Being Easter weekend, we were told that he was there so we couldnt miss the chance to see him. We went to the "Crococeom" where all the shows are held and watched snake shows (not as good as the Thailand special), a tiger show, a bird show and the Grand Finale, after seeing Steves daughter perform with the "croc men". 4 rather camp men dancing in the style of different animals while she danced. It has to be said, it made us all laugh!!
Anyway, when Steve eventually came onto the stage with his wife, it was definately worth it!! Swimming with crocodiles, performing the "death roll", and the usual Steve Irwin character! "CRIKEY MATE, THATS A BEAUTY"!!
I couldnt go a day without making some sort of comment so after spending much time chosing my moment of silence i then proclaimed loudly "STEVE IRWIN, WILL YOU MARRY ME"?? Ater a very surprising look from the the man himself and laughter from the crowd, he then carried on with the show. I felt that i had an emotional connection with him!
After the show, we went to go and see the other animals, such as wombats being taken for walks in wheelbarrows and Kangaroos, Koalas, and the usual other Aussie animals.
Thats about it really, just a general good day that we thought we should share with you. Anyway, leaving Brisbane and off to Noosa tomorrow.
