Where I stayed
David & Lucy had already been in Honkas for a couple of days so I wandered around town before catching up with them to go to Happy Valley Races. The races was a bit of a laugh but a little disappointing to go in the westerners entrance. If I went back I'd go to the other end where all the locals hang out.
On the way back to our hotels side of town we started to notice a crazy American woman ranting about us. Lucy said she'd seen her on the ferry with us & she's obviously followed us. She had to be off her rocker because she thought we were gathering intelligence on her to take back to the States. After David gave her a few choice words in the street she then thought we were Kiwis before deciding we were Australian. We went into a 7Eleven for an icecream but she followed us there too, yelling across the store at us. We told the shop assistant she was nuts as we walked out. Because I was staying in the dodgy mansions, Lucy decided I should go back to their hotel for a while. We told the security guard out the front that the woman had been threatening us & we wanted him to call the police. After a little while we went back downstairs & she was gone, so I was free to go back to the safety/danger of my room.
The next morning I took the tram to the top of the island for a view across the whole of Hong Kong. It's a great view from the top & thankfully the sky was clear enough to see it all. I went to check out the flower market & the bird market before I caught up with David & Lucy for a final feast at a little place they knew about in the night market.
