Here we go again...woke up to a continuation of rough seas from the evening before. It's a challenge walking down the hall in a straight line or standing upright (and still) in a 3x4' shower stall. Imagine making your way through a fun house and the floor suddenly moves up to meet your foot, drops lower than expected, or tilts to one side. I wonder how I'll walk when I finally make it back to dry, firm land?!
For being just a 'sea day', there was certainly enough excitement onboard. We heard the Captain make an announcement that in a few hours a helicopter would be landing on the ship for a medical evacuation. Somebody on the ship wasn't having a very good day. We also saw the internet room was closed due to a window breaking sometime overnight. Crew members explained the wind gusts blew out the window. Then we had a voicemail waiting in the room from Francis that her husband Billy's father had passed away and they would be flying home tomorrow when we reach port. That was very unfortunate but she arranged for our private tour group to go on as scheduled.
We attended a Travel Photography seminar and picked up a tip or two. The Emporium Shops also put out clearance items from the previous Baltic cruise so we checked that out as well. In the afternoon we saw the movie "Aquamarine" at the Cinema. Cute but not really a can't-miss flick. I did miss eating buttered popcorn! As we headed to the room after the movie, we heard the Canadian Coast Guard helicopter and noticed the ship had slowed down almost to a stop. The helicopter wasn't around long because by the time we made it to the top forward deck, all of the excitement was over. Later on we heard that a passenger had been suffering from a bleeding ulcer for the past couple days and he was taken to a hospital in Newfoundland as soon as we were close enough to land for the helicopter to reach us and fly back. From what I understand, the helicopter didn't actually land on the ship, but dropped a couple paramedics onboard who loaded the patient into a litter and lifted him up into the helicopter.
At dinner, John had his usual Caesar Salad, New York Cut Sirloin Steak and Baked Potato. I chose the Onion, Beef and Cheese Turnover for appetizer, Iceberg and Romaine Lettuce Salad with Calypso Dressing, Marinated Tender Beef Tips and Rice. We both chose the Chocolate Mousse Cake for dessert.
After dinner we attended the late show which featured The Tonics, a male quartet, as the opening act. Michael Allen then entertained us with his routine of comedy, juggling and impressions. I enjoyed his show more than any of the others I've seen so far on Celebrity. He previously had been in the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Tomorrow we're promised dry land and a port day back in the Western Hemisphere.

Balcony View
By noon though, the white caps were gone for the most part and the sun continued to shine. It was warm enough to sit on the balcony and just relax with a glass of iced tea.For being just a 'sea day', there was certainly enough excitement onboard.
