On the plane from Barcelona to Prague I sat next to two american guys. I ended up staying at their hotel with them because I did not have anything booked. We went out that night, but I went back to the room pretty early.
The next day I said goodbye to the guys and set out to find my own hostel. I was lucky to get a room at the brand new Saint Jordi hostel on the other side of town. Spent the day relaxing, watching movies and using the bbq.
The next day I went on a bike tour with Angie, Steve and Georgia, three friends from the hostel. It was not a very good tour because our guide found out that his motorbike had just been stolen, which put a damper on his enthusiasm. But, it was still nice to see some of the sites including the very strange "peeing man statue".
Prague is a very old, beautiful city. Even the "new" cathedral was built in the 9th century. Prague was lucky because it was spared from the fighting/bombing of the world wars which destroyed much of the old architecture in other parts of europe. Narrow cobble stone streets, ancient castles and cathedral spires dominate the landscape.
