In the center of Charlotte's downtown, a local radio station sponsors a seasonal outdoor ice rink for the holiday season.  I love ice skating...I feel so graceful while doing it; plus, it is a great work out and assists in the shedding of holiday pounds.  We met some friends downtown in the afternoon and skated around for a couple of hours.  The rink was a little crowded, but it was New Years, so many people were spending quality family time engaging in this extra curricular activity.  I didn't fall at all, but I thought the skates were painful after a while, as they dug into my heels after a couple of trips around the circle.

This is definitely a holiday attraction I would recommend to couples and families alike during the holidays!
