Show trip route
It is hard to describe Vegas, the city that never sleeps is probably a good choice. It is the perfect place for a batchelor party (Ivor knows this as this was the first of 4 parties for him), yet there is also a non-party side to it. There are amazing shows (we went to see Cirque de Soleil - ‘O’ at the Bellagio), good restaurants, luxury 5 star hotels, spas (thanks Sonia), various experiences (including training dolphins for a day – that is for next time) and shopping.
We spent some good time around the pool even though the temperature was hitting the mid 40s during the day and mid 30s at night. They say that water is worth more than gold in the desert – we would like to add aircon to that statement!!! We could only manage at most about 15 mins in the sun before either diving into the pool or going back up to the room to enjoy the aircon.
Most days we walked around the many hotels with all their unique attributes. We thought that the Bellagio and Ceasars Palace were the most impressive. There is a new hotel called Aria which is the biggest hotel in the world with over 4000 rooms. One night we went to downtown Vegas to watch the Fremont Experience – a light show that is projected on the biggest screen in the world. We also made a stop into McMullins, an Irish Pub that is owned by Kev’s uncle and aunt.
Gambling wise we played the Slot machines, Roulette, Black Jack and learnt a new game – Craps. With beginners luck we managed to come out $100 richer – woo hoo! Unfortunately we didn’t make our millions in Vegas (Joe we needed some of your luck) so we can’t fly you all out to join us – sorry!
Next Blog will be of the Grand Canyon.....
