We found out on 1 bus journey from a local that we had been at the 2nd ever Buddhist Temple in China we were quite impressed with this devotion we had already shown to 1 religon. When he told us about the White Horse Temple being the 1st ever Buddhist temple built in China we knew it was fate and Buddhism was calling us.
The White Horse temple was beautiful we enjoyed a sweltering bus journey just to stroke the white horse and meet the Monks who lived there and we weren't disappointed - they even had a temple which housed magic weapons! After an afternoon of wondering around we pretty much decided that we could draw a line under temples and move on from our fleeting fascination - dont worry Mum & Dad after watching 1 lady monk doing sliding squats (apparently she will do this for 2 or more years) we decided it might not be for us.
Longman Caves are just like the previous caves we saw but in a riverside setting with a temple nestled in the forest and about 5 times bigger. If you ever get the chance to go please make these part of your journey - enjoy the pictures.
