Las Glorias, Sinaloa

Not quite satisfied with our Mazatlan experience, we headed North toward Los Mochis to track down a campground allegedly on a deserted beach by a small fishing village.  Crossing through the agricultural hub of Mexico, we now know where all the corn is grown.  Thousands of acres of corn line the state of Sinaloa.  The landscape was reminiscent of the drive from Sacramento to Chico in Northern California.  The town of Guasave was our turning point West to seek out the beach we'd heard about from the old timers in Mazatlan.  After crossing through another 40 miles of agriculture land we arrived at Mr. Moro's R.V. park and resort.  This is the place people should go if they want a relaxing week on the beach!  Complete with a hotel and restaurant, Mr. Moro's had the deserted beach that was promised and sat adjacent to a sleepy fishing village where you could pick up the day's catch for a fraction of the price you're accustomed to paying.  This also offered us the opportunity to set up the giant tent we'd been hauling around for the last two months.  We settled in to our beach side camp and set up the "monster test", attached it to the bus, marveled at the engineering feat we had completed and hit the beach.  The next day, not having a lot to do, we walked to the adjacent village and tracked down "the nicest house in town" were we were told we could buy some fresh prawns.  As promised, we picked up a kilo of giant prawns for about a third of the American price.  With our dinner in tow, we set back to camp to make shrimp, drink beer and do absolutely nothing.  The following day we sat around trying to decide if we wanted to do anything.  Laura picked at her toes for an hour, declared herself exhausted and we decided to do nothing for the rest of the day.  That's good living.
