Standing around in little piles of snow, zooming in with the camera - just so it looks like its super snowing in photos.. the excitement of my first city in the snow!

Statue of Liberty (many stairs to climb), Twin Towers, Battery Park, Fifth Avenue, Broadway, Soho, Wall Street, Greenwich, Central Park (a squirrel!), Empire State Building..

Our first night we arrived a bit late and were wandering around looking for our hostel, several friendly New Yorkers pointed us in the right direction and so within about ten minutes of arrival the myth of rude New Yorkers was dispelled.

We got up the next day and there were little bits of snow around, we decided to go for a walk through Central Park. As we were walking through the park we saw our first squirrel. These little critters are so cute, but everywhere in the park. But still the first one was a novelty, so we stopped and watched it for a while. Im sure all the New Yorkers were walking past thinking "tch, tourists" as we were talking to the squirrel, go up the tree little squirrel!

Climbing the Statue of Liberty wont go down as the happiest experience I have ever had, no doubt all the people stuck behind me will feel the same!! Narrow enclosed winding stairs, shudder. But still eventually I made it to the top, a quick glance at the view and shoving around with every other tourist trying to get a photo and it was back down. My knees don't like stairs very much and by the time we got to the bottom I had the shakes. Still a quick stop for a snack down the bottom and all was well.
