I drove for a while once we crossed the border, which im excited to report makes the US the sixth country I have driven in.
The Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit was amazing, fascinating. Ten of the scrolls are displayed, unfortunately not the treasure map one though. The whole thing is amazing, first that these pieces of parchment from 250 BC up to 68AD survived. Amazing that they were hidden so well that they weren't found until 1947 and amazing that people are able to figure out what goes where and piece them back together. The whole exhibit was well done with lots of interesting background information and the scrolls themselves are tiny with tiny writing. They are even using DNA tests to try and put some of the scrolls back together as some are on animal skin and they can match the piece to an animal. I have no idea where they are shipping the scrolls next but if they turn up in your city its well worth a visit.
We also made our way to the Experience Music Project, a weird looking building that's basically a music museum focusing on the Seattle music scene, which was the cool place to be long before grunge
Many years ago half of Seattle was (purposely) land filled and so now part of the old city is underground. We did a tour of that which was interesting, mostly as the guide was quite fun.

. You also get to "perform" in front of a "live" audience.. which means you get to fake play instruments to a song in front of a video of screaming fans. We chose "I love Rock and Roll" which according to the guy that works there is the most popular choice, of three songs. The people that work there must go nuts having to hear these three songs over and over and over again. There was a lot of cool stuff in there, including some of Sir Mix a lots clothing - baby got back.
