Vancouver is running a campaign at the moment "100 days of summer" which is scaring us that there is a timeline on summer sunshine. We have about 90 days to go. Canadians delight in tormenting us with "the current sunshine is out of character" tales and tall stories about the native animals.

After our previous weekends skunk sighting, the next weekend my Canadian flat mate was driving us home along with another Aussie. He saw a raccoon and stopped to show us. I don't think he was prepared for the enthusiasm of four Aussies, after a night out, squealing (yes even Brad squealed) with excitement at seeing a raccoon. He better hope not to be around when we see a bear.

This past weekend we went to a Greek festival, and ate Mexican. We also did some more sightseeing and went up to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Very bouncy bridge and quite a pretty area. We were too excited to be tourists yet getting a residents discount. My friend from Japan had a friend visiting Vancouver and asked me to look after her, so we took her to the bridge too. I would've looked like a knowledgeable local, with discount and all, except for the fact that the bridge is in North Vancouver where we hadn't been yet, and I totally missed her bus stop. Cool fašade gone before we had even started.

The Aussies lost the soccer today to the Italians. There being no Aussies in talking range at my work I had to discuss it with a Kiwi who was supporting us. What an exciting match, tormenting us with a potential win right to the last second! I guess the next time Ill be watching the World Cup from home in Sydney.
