Everything is all sorted out and on its way towards normal life over here, I'm even writing this from my new job, which I started not long after arriving. We have bank accounts, homes, Social Insurance numbers and all that stuff.. except a salary as we eagerly await first pay! It will be so nice to take money out of the bank for free without all those foreign currency conversion fees.. ahh soon.

I spent my lunch the other day with a Royal! Prince Ed (Earl of Wessex) was doing a meet and greet at Vancouver Town Hall so I went for a peek. There weren't too many people around so if I was more up on my royal etiquette I could've said hello, but then after that? I didn't really want to start a fight over England expiring my visa, or confessing to reading Royal gossip... but still I feel sure that my search for that eligible Prince is narrowing down.. perhaps he knows the Crown Prince of Liechtenstein?

We have yet to do much sightseeing around Vancouver but have been to the all important steam clock. This clock was designed in the 1800's, built in the late 1900's and was the world's first steam powered clock, it sits on a street in the heritage section, Gastown, and chimes and steams on the quarter hour. Brad made sure everyone knew we were tourists by getting us to hang around and wait for the quarter hour.

Other than the clock we have managed to make it to Granville Island and a few parks, this isn't hard as Vancouver is a very park-y city. Once that paycheck comes in though we will be crazy tourists again.. somehow with the absence of these paychecks we have managed to get along to a micro brewery or two..

Walking home the other Saturday night we saw a skunk!! It was right near my apartment and we were watching it, I was hoping it wouldn't go into my house but I think the others were secretly hoping it would. I found out later it used to hang out at the fence next to my house all the time. Like teenagers at a McDonalds car park.
