A long trek to our hotel in Bratislava with a few missed directions in the train station to find Michelle and Carol waiting for us. I took them aside and mentioned that I needed to get some cake as it was Adrians birthday the next day.. and where did Michelle take me but Tescos!! (giant english supermarket). I think she was quite happy for the excuse to go back because as i piled up with stockings (to try and combat the cold), cake and champers she piled up with shoes, chocolates, beauty products...
It snowed pretty much the whole time we were in Bratislava, which makes a pretty place prettier in my view and leads to snow jumping, snow fights, snow men etc. Lots of cobblestoned streets again, a castle (albeit not a gorgeous one but a biiiiig one with many many rooms of things) and of course the UFO restaurant/club which was great. Very funky. We also at some stage found ourself at a disco on a boat - which reminded me of a blue light disco but Adrians friend Hari was entranced by it but we managed to get him to leave. phew, one of the benefits of being old is you dont have to go to blue light disco style places anymore!! On the Friday (was it Friday, so hard to remember) we stayed till closing at one of the bars and the waitress came around with food and fed us just to be nice. cool.
Bratislava also has christmas markets so we wandered around there snacking away at the local treats, of course sipping mulled wine!
