A quick stop on the way back from Manchester, hey we had a car (hired) and so the road was at our command.
Adrian had been to Stratford upon Avon before and so happily told us stories of what he remembered from his visit. He took us along to the house where Shakespeare had grown up and told of how his father had shod horses for the town, in fact his father was so good at horse shodding that the town loved him and put him in a position of trust for it. Oh the tales rolled on of how when you tour the house (it was closed for us) they would show you the area where he shod the horses, why you could almost hear the clip clopping of the horses around us.. Until we got in the car. And Tracey looked at the Lonely planet which told us that Shakespeare's father had made gloves.
