Those pesky Romanians
Entry 61 of 149 | show all | print this entry |

With the Romanian embassy clutching onto our passports, and seemingly no chance of finding them anytime soon we ended up in Scotland. Having all taken two weeks off work and excitedly prepared ourselves for Romania, the embassy lost our passports. Its a painful topic.
So consolation prize - hire a car and drive up to Scotland, so we did. A big car and a manual transmission as well bought a look of fear to my eyes, and much amusement for Tracey and Adrian with my bunny hopping. Hey its been ages since I drove and I havent driven a manual car since back in the days of the ex-scott (around 2001). Lucky i didnt hit anything! Towards the end of our trip those Romanians found our passports, and charged us for the visa fee. hmm.

After living in Romania from 1994 , being from uk I needed a visa and then every 6 months for residence until 1999 .
in order to get my application completed quickly without any holdups I was advised to pay some SPAGA , this being a slang term for a tip .{actually a bit more than a tip , you would be surprised the results it brings}!
