Well, after we found out we were all going to Bucharest on the same day, we decided to stick together for another day (by "we" i mean the British fellows i mentioned earlier). Now, rather then refering to them as "the british guys", i might as well introduce them fully. Alister(sorry if i spelled it wrong), Sean, and Anthony were doing a pre-school trip through eastern Europe en route to Istanbul and were going through Bulgaria to get there. Before leaving the country, however, they had this fervent wish to spend one night in a Bulgarian monastery, hence why we were all heading in the same direction. After seeing what Bucharest looked like though, and a) not having and room in the first hostel as well as b)not even finding the second hostel; Alister suggested that i just skip Bucharest altogether and hop the next train to Sophia with them. I'm really glad i did too, because even being accompanied by 3 guys (they referenced british pride a few times, why not, it works), i still thought that Bucharest vaguely resembled some kind of Communist hellhole and we were likely to be mugged by the locals and then eaten by stray dogs. Anyway, what followed was a very eventful train ride for 12 hours (lets just say these guys would fit right in on Bowen, they are just as...original as the rest of you), and we got to Sophia at about 6:00 in the morning. Basically, noone got any sleep, so we were all exhausted. They had to leave to go to Plovdiv, and we said our goodbyes and swapped emails, but i'm totally staying in touch.
