Our next area of adventure took us to a small small small town on the western coast of Italy: Biassa. Next to Gimmelwald, the smallest town we have been too. Im pretty sure we were the only foreigners in the city. Our main area of interest was  actually located several kilometers away, and it goes by the name of Cinque Terre. Meaning 5 towns. A coastal region that is actually a protected National Park. There are five small towns all within a 18 kilometer range that are to be walked in approximately 5 hours. Upon arriving in Biassa, we made a walk around the city that elapsed a total time of 5 minutes. Finding the only pizzeria in town, which was highly recommended by the receptionist at our hostel, was no hard task to say the least. We did our communicating with hand gestures and facial expressions; an art we have become quite good at. All I need to say is after inhaling our first pizza, we knew we had stumbled upon something special as we proceeded to eat 6 pizzas between the two of us in two nights. Homemade hand tossed crust, olive oil, real cheese, fresh tomatoes, brick fire oven. We have vowed to eat a pizza everyday we are in Italy. The only full day we were in Biassa, we hiked our way over to Cinque Terre where we proceeded to hike 18 more kilometers. In total we hiked for about 7 hours. SO ridiculously worth it. The simple life we saw of the locals. Every hill was lined with vineyards. The clear deep blue was below our path the entire walk and we could see all 5 of the towns at our start and finish points. Rob had heard of this place in a Guide book and it proved to be worthy. I wonder though how the locals feel about it though? I know I would be annoyed by a bunch of tourists walking through the streets of my town. I hope it doesn't get any bigger than it already is, otherwise the towns will lose a lot more of their culture. Several times while we were hiking I was tempted to jump off the side of the cliff in to the water. I have the urge to jump off cliffs into water now ever since Nice. We also discovered the beauties of Gelato and even though it may be the exact same thing as ice cream, just the name makes it 5 times better.

WE are now in Naples, after a little nights sleep. Tomorrow we will discover the Ancient wonders of Pompeii and the Volcanic Action of MT. Vesuvius.

These pictures are incredible! Too bad that you found it too touristy. With that being said - I want to go to these towns. I want to eat pizza and gelato! Not sure about the walking 7 hours tho :-( I think you should open up a pizzeria when you get home!
Cracks me up that you're communicating with hand gestures and facial expressions. Awesome!
Can you please refrain from cliff jumping!?... show all

Isaac,
Say no more...Gelato is THE BEST! Make sure you have at least one a day while you are in Italy. If you need to justify, have two and say that you had one for me! Stracciatella is my favorite!
