It all began at the Route 66 Casino, in Albuquerque, NM,  We saw our first Motorhome on a P26 chassis. We woke up in the morning with a P26 MH parked behind us. What a cool MH. We were outside when the driver returned to the MH. We asked him a few questions about it and found out that he was transporting it to California from Iowa. He showed us the inside and we immediately decided this may just be the MH for us.

Then two months later, in Mesa, AZ, we went to a dealer and asked to see a short class A MH. They had one, but it was at the RV show that day. The sales person escorted us to the RV show and showed it to us, again, we immediately liked it. We decided to go home and think about it. In the morning we called the salesman and made an offer on the RV. He needed to check with his boss, he came back on the phone and it was sold. GONE

That was a couple of years ago and we have been pounding the keys ever since trying to fine another MH on a 26P chassis. Bill found one in Phoenix last spring, Jeanne and Jim were going to check it out for us, but, it was sold before they could get there. Then Bill found this one in Akron and made the deal.

On Wednesday we drove our Damon Intruder to Akron, OH, and traded it in on the 2012 Istacsa Sunstar 26P. On Thursday afternoon, under the hot sun in an asphalt parking lot with temps in the triple digits, we transferred our belongings to our new MH for three hours and headed north.

Our new MH is just what we have wanted for a long time. We want the short chassis for driving in Mexico in some tight situations. Bill tried it out in Maumee, OH, where he made a wrong turn, he got in the left lane and made a U-turn without backing up. When we parked in a large parking lot, we took less than two spaces. What a difference six feet can make.

Nice. When you bringing it home to show it off. Steve's brother and wife live in their MH year round and love the lifestyle.
