Prepare to Leave Town

We are ready, ready to head south for warmer weather. Our only regret is that we will miss our family and our friends. We have our reunion in the spring to look forward to.

Our first destination will be in Kentucky at the Jerusalem Ridge Bluegrass Festival at the birthplace of American Bluegrass Music, the Monroe Family Home Place. 2011 would have been Bill Monroe's 100th birthday, so we are expecting something special. We have never been to this Festival before.

Getting out of town is one of the hardest things we do, and this year was no different. Last spring I bought a house next to my daughter's and have not yet sold my other house, so basically we had one more house to winterize. That's three houses, a bus and a truck camper. It took nine gallons of RV antifreeze. This year we decided not to heat any house which meant that we had to remove all of the food that could freeze, and since I am such a hoarder, that was a massive task. But we got it done, we are on the road.
