Wow! Where to begin? Dublin is an amazing city. While I only got a crash course tour of the city, I really had a wonderful time. The city is so interesting, so full of life. It has a curious mix of the old and new. We got to spend Friday night in the famous Temple Bar district. Had dinner at this really nice place called the Elephant and Castle (or maybe it was the Castle and Elephant, hmm? can't seem to remember). Got to go to some very historic pubs. The street performers there are amazing, too. There were these two men who did these acrobatic tricks and even went under a fire blazing limbo! Also, some really talented musicians and even magicians! Saturday was the day we got to tour the city and see things like the Book of Kells and the library at Trinity College (which by the way, was my favorite!) The library is absolutely fabulous! One of my favorite things in the world are old books and this library was filled from top to bottom. I was in love! Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures. Also, got to tour the Guinness factory. Did you know the man had 21 children?!! This was a learning experience for me. Ireland, and especially Dubliners, hold their Guinness in high regard. Apparently, it is said to be the best in the world! Next to the library, perhaps one of my favorite things about Dublin was that I got to ride the double-decker bus. Dorky, I know, but riding on the top with no roof was so much fun. You really get to see Dublin that way. And last but certainly not least, is the train trip. Galway to Dublin. Coast to Coast.
P.S. It was so nice to be able to brush my teeth again using the faucet!
Church
West to East. I got to see so much of the countryside of Ireland this way. Beautiful! It really is everything you imagine and picture when you think of Ireland and much, much more!P.S. It was so nice to be able to brush my teeth again using the faucet!
