my days on the island continued to pass in a very relaxing manner surrounded by a lovely group of people.
Our routine involved breakfast and coffee then pool / sea for some swimming and reading then back to the hotel for some rest and out again for dinner.
We are not really crazy party people and we are content in enjoying each other's company .
However, we did party for one night the night also known as " The Snorkel test".
As I said before Malin and Romain have been on the island in order to complete a diving course.
Tradition has it in their diving school that when people successfully complete their course and they become Dive Masters they have to go through a 'Snorkel Test'
So we left our bikes behind and took tuk tuks ( ours being the most colorful party tuk tuk with music ever) and went to the pub " Irish Embassy'
There we had some drinks and one of the most fun nights ever watching the new Dive masters become progressively drunk and undergo a series of 3 funny tests.
First test included drinking a mixture of spirits through a funnel and snorkel while the last test included dancing and singing to a famous song that the new dive Masters decided to do cross dressed!!! Malin and Romain decided to ( not very successfully) sing " Barbie girl" while everyone was hysterically laughing at their drunken efforts to remember the words of the song.
The next day, the guys went for a dive apart from Malin who was nursing a cold with a hangover so we spent a nice day together at my favourite freedom bar.
Unfortunately the rain has returned and we became drenched on our motorbike drive back to our hotel!
There has also been some sort of a festival next to our hotel with live music every night. There were a lot of locals selling all sorts of local delicacies including deep fried insects that I decided not to try. However , Peter, Romain and Mona tell me that a grass hopper tastes of nothing but is very crunchy!
Better stick to the Mango sticky Rice
The Swedish girls left for another island making our group a bit smaller .
Peter and Malin decided to go on further dives and live on a boat for a few days so on our last night together in Koh Lanta we had a great dinner followed by a game of competitive Jenga while smoking apple flavored sisha. I was thankfully spared the punishment for a night dip in the pool for losing at Jenga!!
We said goodbye to our Swedish friends and then our group was reduced down to 3.
No matter what the size of the group our activities continued to be the same and so did the fun times.
Unfortunately Romain's and Mona's time on the island came to an end and they left leaving me to continue on Lanta waiting for my sister in order to continue our travels.
Thank you guys for a great time!
p.s. mummy I am ok !
