We had a very short stay in Miltenberg, a very old city. There are red sandstone quarries that have been carved out to form the lower floors of the houses. It is nearing Easter season here, and in Germany (at least Southern Germany), that is a big deal. The main fountain was decorated with greenery and colored eggs. Throughout the countryside, we saw gardens and fountains decorated with rabbits and eggs. Houses and shops are decorated, too.
After dinner, we watched a glass-blowing demonstration by one of the master glass blowers in the area. He drank beer and told stories about his family and the area, all the while making beautiful glass decorations.
