I had a 24 hour layover in Singapore; one of the cleanest, safest big cities in the world. Like neighboring Malaysia, there is a fascinating blend of cultures here; majority being Chinese but with a substantial percentage of Indians and Arabs. I did a six hour walking tour through all of the major neighborhoods and attractions: Clarke Quay and Boat Quay (restaurants and bars along the river), Chinatown, Arab Street, Orchard Road (fancy shopping district), Colonial District (British architecture), and Little India (where I had dinner and spent the night).
