with Russians? They are absolutely everywhere. At one point I was introduced to a positively stunning Russian girl who didn't speak much English and I couldn't think of a single thing to say to her. I said, "So you come from Russia? Gosh. Wow." And she moved quickly onto someone more verbally dexterous, and also better looking. Oh, and I had a really nice day strolling around the "private" beach of the Grand Hyatt resort in Nusa Dua, which has to be one of the nicest beaches in Bali. And capped it off with a beautiful sunset at Seminyak's trendy Ku De Ta bar. Bye bye, Indonesia.
My last few days in Bali were spent looking for trouble with my Gili dive buddy Dan. We, too, formed a motorcycle gang and went surfing at Uluwatu and Nusa Dua. At night we hung out with his Indonesian girlfriend and some of her friends. We even had dinner at the home where she lives with a Balinese family and some of the neighbors. In the dark alleyway bars of Kuta I met a wonderful group of oddball Russians who promised to show me around when I get to Moscow this summer.
