I tried to enjoy the flight over the snow-capped Peruvian Andes but I was sick all morning on the Star Peru flight with nausea. I felt a little better when we landed and we were greeted by the full palava of an 8 piece Andean pan-pipe band greeting tourists at the Cusco airport in the effort to sell CDs at 7:00am. Loud.

We caught a taxi to Casa de la Gringa where we scored a room in the building they call the annex. The town smells like Cusco and we were very happy to be back. We were reunited with Lesley who owns the businesses and Miguel and gave Miguel his hand painted indian t-shirt we had brought him from Colombia. He was very happy his sisters were back and even washed his Jack Sparrow pirate hair for us. Nadine is cooking him lamb shanks that he will eat with his hands and wash down with red wine swigged straight from the bottle tonight. We have already been to Muse Cafe for a coffee, wandered around the square, hugged our little amigo who sells the crystals Sylvester, bought some decent Lithium batteries, Nadine bought a new jacket to replace the Spongebob swiped, we looked at the new gallery in Macondo, went to the English pub and have eaten a Peruvian style stuffed half avocado, oh yes, we are back to our spiritual home and it feels good to be here Stuffed avocado Peruvian dish

. We are both in good spirits. We have been chatting to travellers at the hostel and helping some people out with their San pedro cactus journeys. We met Raymond from Switzerland and Matthew from New York who were a good chat. I had my feet and legs measured today for some new black leather, fringed pirate boots from the custom shoemaker and bought some crystals including a Macchu Picchu Serpentine ball for massage and an amythest wand. We spoke to the hippy jewellers in San Blas.

I met a punk / pixie looking juggler guy today in the street who told me about a circus convention happening in the Sacred Valley this weekend. What? A Circus Convention? We simply must attend. How lucky are we? Right place, right time i suppose. Entrance is one book for each day you attend. Books are expensive and rare in Peru and the community out in the valley really needs them to start a library. There are people out there now who are preparing the site with giant circus tents and equipment and Cusco seems to have many performers around too. Yippiieeee!!! How exciting. There will be all kinds of performers and bands and a psytrance DJ plus a clowning workshop. I have always wanted to do a clowning workshop, not that i need to really. We have booked to got to Machu Picchu for two days on the train and also booked mattresses for inside our tent for the gathering. All sorted. Lucky ducks. We both feel that Cusco and the surrounding mountains will always be a place we will come back to in our lives, in fact we are sure to be returning for medicine top ups in Peru, Cusco is a spiritual hot spot with beautiful energies.

Nadine has been carrying around a can of palm hearts for 3 months, why? i am not sure but maybe she is trying to get fitter, i know how happy the can makes you feel but please eat them soon or i will be throwing them away.
