Tonight, mum, Don and i went to see Tarnished, featuring Australia's notorious Queen of Burlesque, Imogen Kelly, Happy Sideshow's Tiger Lil, infamous ascendant of the Limelight Revue and miscellaneous contortions of tease, Kellie Vella and also a little a brat called Neridah Waters. The venue was the Gold Coast Arts Centre.
The group of four are basically a hilarious marriage of high skilled circus, comedy and burlesque. There was quite an eclectic mix of a crowd there to see the girls perform. Before the show started the group acted as usherettes escorting people to their seats and running around the auditorium fooling around, losing their shoes and falling onto people´s laps.
Tarnished whipped up the crowd with deconstructed chorus lines, whip-cracking, ribbon aerials, acrobatics, fan-dancing and physical comedy
The newspapers have described Tarnished as:
¨Opulent. Breathtaking. Decadent. Hysterical.¨
and this:
¨Harking back to the 1940's, Tarnished offers a hysterical pastiche of showgirl mania and more frenzied, high-kicking action than some entire Broadway musicals¨.
This show was theatrical burlesque at its very polished best and i laughed my head off the whole way through.

. Imogen did a world famous Marie Antoinette inspired striptease, Tiger Lil and Kellie Vella were also great, with the highlights of their performance being the mermaid and sailor balancing act and Tiger Lil's whip cracking and angle-grinding finale. Kellie Vella also did a great aerial ribbon act. Neridah Waters was the butt off all the jokes of the other performers and handled it so well. The newspapers have described Tarnished as:
